Illusory Code
“If we get caught, we’re dead. So, please, if you are gonna hit the guard, make sure you hit him hard enough to knock him out. If I have to drop concentration, the entire Pendragon empire will know we’re here.” - Josephine, a wizard tired of her barbarian companion’s antics
3rd-level Illusion
Classes: Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: Verbal, Somatic, Material (a small shard of crystal worth 50 gp)
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
Description:
You weave an intricate and detailed illusion around yourself or a touched object, masking it from detection by magical wards or divination effects. The illusion adapts to mimic the environment, projecting a false image or aura to deceive magical detection. For the duration, you or the object appear mundane or entirely absent, depending on the illusion you create.
When the illusion comes into contact with a detection ward or divination spell, you must make an Intelligence (Arcana) check contested by the ward’s DC or the spellcaster’s spell save DC. On a success, the illusion bypasses the ward, rendering the concealed entity undetectable. On a failure, the illusion falters and the concealed entity becomes visible or detectable to the ward.
The illusion can only bypass one ward or divination effect per casting. If multiple detection spells or wards are present, you must cast the spell again to bypass each one.
At Higher Levels:
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can target one additional creature or object for each slot level above 3rd.
