A follower of Kord, the Stormlord, can gain favor with their deity by demonstrating bravery, strength, wisdom and valor in battle. As they embody the principles of courage, honor, and resilience, Kord may bestow the following blessings upon them:

Any spell-like abilities granted by these blessings use the character’s spellcasting ability, if the character does not have a spellcasting ability, they can use their highest ability score.

  1. Blessing of Strength:

    • The recipient gains a permanent +2 bonus to their Strength score, up to a maximum of 25. This blessing represents Kord’s favor, imbuing the follower with extraordinary physical power.
  2. Storm’s Fury:

    • Once per long rest, the follower can call upon Kord’s wrath to deal an additional 2d6 lightning damage with their melee attacks for 1 minute as a bonus action. This surge of power reflects the god’s stormy nature and his gift of ferocity in battle.
  3. Thunderous Resilience:

    • The follower gains resistance to lightning and thunder damage. This blessing symbolizes Kord’s protective embrace, shielding the devotee from the harsh elements.

Kord’s followers can invoke their deity’s wrath upon their enemies by cursing them with afflictions that reflect the deity’s domains. As the followers gain favor with Kord, they may gain access to the following curses to unleash upon their foes:

The follower must cast Bestow Curse to invoke their available curses:

  1. Curse of Weakness:

    • The target’s Strength score is reduced by 2 for 24 hours. If this reduces the target’s Strength to 0, they are incapacitated. This curse saps the physical power of Kord’s enemies, rendering them feeble and vulnerable.
  2. Lightning’s Wrath:

    • The target must roll a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + the follower’s Wisdom or Strenght modifier) on a failure it takes 3d6 lightning damage and is stunned until the end of the spell or half as much on a success and is not stunned. This curse channels Kord’s lightning through the enemy, inflicting pain and disorientation.
  3. Thunderous Disorientation:

    • The target is deafened and has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks for the duration of the spell. This curse creates a persistent, disorienting thunderous noise around the enemy, disrupting their concentration and combat effectiveness.

Creating Celestra for Bahamut

Celestra Creation

In the Calm Age, the dragons were brought forth into existence. Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon and embodiment of nobility and justice, created the Metallic Dragons. These majestic beings were tasked with safeguarding mortals and their settlements from the unruly forces of the prime elements.

On the opposing side, Tiamat, the Scaled Tyrant and deity of wealth, greed, and vengeance, crafted the Chromatic Dragons. Born with a mission to combat and repel the prime elemental forces, they stood as the frontline warriors in the cosmic struggle.

The dragons wielded remarkable power, captivating even the attention of the gods themselves. Kord, the Stormlord and deity of strength and storms, marveled at the might of these creatures. Impressed by their prowess and acknowledging the glory their victories brought to him, Kord decided to reward them.

Despite the ongoing discord among the gods, Kord bravely chose to bestow a gift upon both Bahamut and Tiamat, even though the latter was considered his adversary. Calling upon his domain of clouds, the Stormlord crafted a sky of pure white clouds for Bahamut to soar. He raised numerous mountains with his own hands and placed them in Bahamut’s sky, providing a tranquil haven for the Platinum Dragon’s repose.

However, the Cloaked Serpent, Zehir, god of darkness, poison, and assassins, seized the opportunity to sow chaos. Crafty and malevolent, Zehir concocted a poison using hogweed and used his dagger to pierce the sky. Bahamut’s once serene sky erupted into flames, burning a fiery red. Zehir concealed himself among the stones, reveling in his treacherous deed.

Witnessing the corruption of his creation, Kord’s fury ignited like a tempest. The Stormlord unleashed his wrath upon the mountains in his expanse, his hands surrounded by thunder as he shattered the peaks into fragments. These scattered pieces were then employed to separate the poisoned sky from the rest.

Acknowledging his responsibility for allowing Zehir to corrupt his craft, Kord devised a solution. He transformed the uncorrupted clouds into gateways leading to Bahamut’s celestial abode. These gateways allowed the Platinum Dragon to continue soaring through the sky and find rest in the mountains above the poisoned realm.

Grateful for Kord’s intervention, Bahamut deemed the sky, despite its corruption, to be beautiful. He chose to preserve it as a precious gift and set it within the expanse of Aeloria’s sky. Thus, Bahamut’s sky became a radiant gem, shining brightly in the night sky, a testament to the might of Kord and the enduring beauty born from chaos.

Creating Tormentia for Tiamat

Tormentia’s Creation

In the wake of the serpent’s treachery, Kord, fueled by anger and determination, returned to his divine craftsmanship. Recalling the insult inflicted by Zehir, the god of serpents, the Stormlord gazed upon the gift he had initially begun crafting for Tiamat. It was a realm of colorful skies, woven from the very palette Corellon, The Spellfather, and God of beauty, art, and magic, had used to paint the most enchanting landscapes in Aeloria.

With a seething resolve, Kord named Tiamat’s sky “Tormentia” and adorned it as a radiant gem above the Aelorian heavens. However, Zehir, consumed by jealousy, sought to corrupt this masterpiece as well. Using Belladonna, he crafted a poison that would turn the sky pitch black and shroud the clouds in a thick fog, attempting once again to unleash chaos.

This time, Kord was prepared. Transforming into a colorful lightning, he streaked through Tormentia. As Zehir’s poison touched the sky, the lightning traversed through it, paralyzing the snake god and stunning him with a burst of thunderous light.

Reverting to his godly form, Kord approached the paralyzed Zehir, waiting for the serpent to recover. The Stormlord believed in the honor of a fair fight over a cowardly ambush. Once Zehir regained his senses, Kord seized the moment, grabbing the cloaked serpent and delivering a powerful punch that resonated with thunder. The impact was so intense that the clouds of Tormentia were stripped away, scattering throughout the sky in an explosion of unimaginable color, and Tormentia fell from the heavens. The thunderous punch echoed across all realms, reaching the ears of gods and mortals alike.

The lightning’s potency burned Zehir’s scales until they resembled obsidian. In a cowardly retreat, Zehir transformed into thousands of snakes, vanishing into the shadows, swearing vengeance on the Stormlord.

Satisfied that justice was served, Kord summoned back the clouds of Tormentia and presented the restored gift to Tiamat. Once again, he placed it in the celestial expanse of Aeloria’s heavens, a gem of swirling colors, a testament to the Stormlord’s might and commitment to justice.

Creating the Giants

The Giants

The giants were forged by Kord and Moradin. Moradin had created the first and biggest mountain, and Kord impressed by the creation, decided to climb to the very top of the mountain to see the world from above. As he strode unstoppable as a unyielding storm, he reached out his hand and grabbed the pure elemental forces of the world, dragging them with him to the top of the mountain. During his climb, the elemental forces joined with parts of the mountain, the hills from below, the stones from the mountain, the ice from the top, the fire from the magma, the clouds from the sky, and when he reached the top, he shaped created a mighty storm to lift himself above the mountain, imbuing the storm with the elemental forces he had gathered as a final gift to the world. And thus the first giants were born, each embodying the elements of the world.
